Coloured Pencil drawing PDF Print Email

Before starting, I always have a kind of vision of my future drawing, which shows structures, colours and forms. When working, I am not preparing any compositional studies or sketches, I work exclusively based on intuition. Nontheless I do have an idea which structures will later be in the fore and which will be more in the background because the former must be drawn first.

When working, I feed my meditative mood with high mountain teas from Taiwan, incense sticks and audio books by John Lee or Humphrey Bower. In this atmosphere, I can “feel” the right ornaments and work on those parts which feel harmonious for me.

My work is based on the following principle: I work on not more than three pictures and two series at the same time. In addition to that, there is no failed picture, so I will always finish my work. This gives me a feeling of security that everything I do is right.

My main focus is fine and precise work. This – of course – requires very special tools which I have found after a long period of try and error. I enjoy working on Duria and Bristol cardboard. The colours I apply with coloured crayon which must be extremely pointed.

I usually work between eight and fourteen hours daily on my works. This was very new and unfamiliar to me and especially at the beginning and due to the high pressure of drawing, I suffered from numb fingercubs , muscle tensions and an irritation of my finger bones. Thanks to Annalisa Adami and her homeoepathic work these side effects quickly disappeared.
